From the excitable, if a little “nutty”, Squirrel Nutkin, to the oh-so-charming Mr Todd and his wily, though somewhat dimmer, partner in crime, Mr Brock, to the shy and unassuming Mrs Tiggywinkle, these talking creatures are brought to life by an ensemble of young performers donning masks, singing songs and telling their tales. The Lancaster Offshoots, in this latest venture, celebrate Beatrix Potter’s stories and illustrations, as well as the rural landscape of Cumbria local to the company and which, all those years ago, inspired Potter to put pen to paper and create this wonderful world. This home-grown, heart-warming homage to one of the world’s best children’s writers is perfect for people of all ages and especially families and children.
