Synopsis
Following the death of Hamlet’s mother, The Prime Minister, her sister Gertrude takes over, marrying Hamlet’s father Claudius and causing a rift amongst the family and MPs of the House.
Hamlet, convinced Gertrude is behind the death and haunted by the figure of their mother, falls into mental disarray. Ophelia, secret lover of Hamlet, daughter of the Chancellor Polonius and an MP in her own right, becomes disillusioned with politics and seeks an exit. With an election on the horizon, plots unravel, chaos ensues, and the calculating underbelly of the political sphere shows itself in colourful and devastating ways. |
